- Participants 21 years and older who exceed the maximum acceptable weight limit for their height at the Philmont medical recheck will not be permitted to backpack or hike at Philmont
- Physicians at Philmont will use their best professional judgment for individuals under 21 years who are exceeding maximum height requirements. Exceptions are not automatic and maximum allowable exception is 20 pounds
- Under no circumstances will any individual over 295 pounds be allowed to participate regardless of height or age.

Immunization
Required:
- Tetanus (within the last 10 years)
- Diphtheria Toxoid ( within the last 10 years)
Highly Recommended:
- Measles/mumps/rubella id born in 1957 or later
- Varicella(VAR) (Chicken pox) if born in 1980 or later
- Polio (IPV)
- COVID-19
- Hepatitis A (Hep A)
- Hep B (Hep B)
- Pneumonia (Pneumococcus): (PVC13 or PPSV23)
- Influenzas (annually)
- Hemophilus Influenza Type B (HIB)
- Meningococcus Conjugate (MenACWY)

- Shingles- Zoster recombinant (RZV)
Philmont encourages all participants to be fully vaccinated according to the CDC vaccinated schedule
